§ 14-194. Temporary pennants or banners.

  • The building inspector, when requested in writing, may mitigate the provisions of this article prohibiting pennants and banners, but on a temporary basis only, in accordance with the following provisions:

    (1)

    Temporary shall mean a period of time not in excess of 60 days.

    (2)

    The use of pennants and banners may be allowed by the building inspector in connection with grand openings of commercial establishments and in support of special sales or events or other matters of similar import.

    (3)

    Authorization for the use of temporary pennants or banners shall be in writing signed by the building inspector and shall state the number of days such use is to be permitted. No such authorization shall be given more than twice in a calendar year for a specific location.

    (4)

    All such pennants and banners shall be removed at the expiration of such authorization.
