§ 54-54. Display of permit.

  • (a)

    A commercial solicitation permit shall be a card, approximately two inches by four inches, containing the name of the soliciting company and the product being solicited, the name of the solicitor, the dates solicitation may occur in the village, and the effective dates of the permit, in easily readable form. All permits shall bear the name of the village and the signature of the village clerk or deputy village clerk designated to examine applications. Each person engaged in commercial solicitation shall prominently display the solicitation permit issued hereunder on his person while so soliciting within the village.

    (b)

    A charitable solicitation permit shall state the name and address of the charitable organization, the names and addresses of the persons who will conduct the solicitation and the dates during which such solicitation may occur within the village. The permit shall bear the name of the village and the signature of the village clerk or deputy village clerk designated to examine applications. Each individual soliciting under a charitable permit shall prominently display, while soliciting, a card, approximately two inches by four inches, containing the name of the charitable organization involved, the name of the solicitor and the effective dates of the permit in easily readable form. The card shall bear the name of the village and the signature of the village clerk or deputy village clerk designated to examine applications. Each person engaged in charitable solicitation shall prominently display the solicitation permit card issued hereunder on his person while so soliciting within the village.
