§ 66-211. Use of village property by private organizations.

  • (a)

    A permit shall be required prior to the use of any village property by any private person or organization, including political parties and candidates, when the property is to be used for conducting a gathering, meeting, or entertainment for fundraising purposes or other purposes related thereto.

    (b)

    An application for a permit to use public property by private organizations shall be filed with the village clerk, in writing, stating the time, place and purpose for the gathering and any other information which the village board deems pertinent. The application must be filed not later than five days prior to the event.

    (c)

    The village president shall decide whether a permit for the use of village property by private organizations shall be granted subject to conditions reasonably imposed, including insurance requirements, safety requirements and other reasonable conditions. The fee for a permit shall be $75.00, which may be waived at the discretion of the village president.
