§ 78-2. Obstructing streets prohibited; penalty.

  • (a)

    Railroad crossings. No railroad company, railroad engineer, train conductor or other person shall cause or allow any locomotive engine, car or cars to stop in or remain upon any street and railroad crossing within said village for a longer period than ten minutes at any one time; provided, however, that in case a collision shall take place at any or either of the crossings aforesaid, reasonable time shall be allowed to remove any obstruction that may be caused thereby.

    (b)

    Penalty. Any railroad company, railroad engineer, train conductor or other person, firm or corporation who violates this section shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in section 1-8 for each occasion that this section is violated. Each occasion shall constitute a separate offense upon which a penalty shall be enforced.
