§ 78-23. In residential areas.

  • Parking of trailers and other storage vehicles on the street and residential areas of the village.

    (1)

    No person, firm or corporation shall stop, park, or leave unattended for a period in excess of one hour, any trailer or other storage vehicle on any street or in any residential area.

    (2)

    For purposes of this section only, trailer is defined with the same meaning as "trailer coach" in section 18-754, as well as any vehicle used or maintained for conveyance upon the highway or city street so designed and so constructed as to be pulled by an automobile or truck and to carry or store any items or property.

    (3)

    Any person in conflict with the provisions of this division shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in section 1-8 for each such offense or violation.

    (4)

    No vehicle which has a gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds, represented by "C" license plates or above, consisting of a cab or tractor with or without the trailer being attached, used primarily for commercial or business purposes shall be parked or stored in a location closer to the front property line than the living area, excluding garages, of the principal building on said premises, except that such vehicles may be parked in said front yard area on a properly constructed driveway for the expeditious loading or unloading of the vehicle.
