§ 1-3. Catchlines and headings.
The catchlines of the several sections and subsections, and the headings of chapters, articles, divisions and subdivisions of this Code are intended as mere catchwords to indicate the contents of the section, subsection, chapter, article, division or subdivision, and shall not be deemed or taken to be titles of such sections, subsections, chapters, articles, divisions or subdivisions, nor as any part of the section, subsection, chapter, article, division or subdivision, nor, unless expressly so provided, shall they be so deemed when any of such sections, subsections, chapters, articles, divisions or subdivisions, including the catchlines or other headings, are amended or reenacted.
